Back from Malacca!

(Overview)

A tranquilizing place with cheap entertainment & goods and mouth-watering food.

(1st day)
Visited historical sites and museums in the day, costing us between 50 cents to $1 sgd per entry only. And had good food for every meal (BEST!).

Watched a movie at nite, costing us $3 sgd only. (isn't it paying cheaply for good stuffs?)

Chilled out at a lounge with a glass of complimentary cocktail.

(2nd day)
We took a swim in our 5-star hotel, sun tanned, enjoyed a jaccuzi bath and sweated out in sauna (this is the life!).

Walked a long way to the seaside to enjoy the sea breeze and later on found us been pulled by the line of 10 seafood stalls, competing with one another. Store number 9 & 5 were so pestering, so i chose 4 (9 minus 5, LOL) out of frustration. Also, we were being conned by this taxi driver (learnt a lesson: must check out the standard taxi rates).

After that, at nite, we had a great deal of shopping and eventually ran out of ringgits. So we exchanged more for the next day (see how tempting the price is).

(last day)
Overslept because of over-enjoyment -.-"'
so we quickly shopped for the remaining things with our remaining ringgits, making sure no $ is left (crazy, huh?)

we cheated a taxi driver in revenge (muahahaha) and got a cheaper ride back to the bus interchange.

Of course, I did some accounting for the vacation. SGD253 spent in total. $70 on accommodations, SGD50 on food, SGD100 on clothings & SGD30 on transportation. Balance: $0 (pok kai liao)

My University admission interview ended just 2 hours ago. I'm so delighted and lucky to say that it was a smooth-going one- i answered with fast response time. It was a 2 to 1 interview. But who cares? As advised by seniors, I should remain calm, so that I would not panick for words. And I am lucky to have two nice interviewers (a black and a white). The other interviewees are very outgoing too. We talked so much that we forgot our anxiety and changed the tense atmosphere into a lively one.

Basically, they asked me about my expectations in SMU and in the future after I graduate, why I choose the course and they asked me to explain the difference between seeking education and seeking employment.

Sweet and steady went the interview
For now I rejoice
And await the good news

It had been 12 years since I had experienced the nervousness of being operated in a theatre with shiny sharp tools, really bright lights and surgeons all at my sides.

I was being pushed into the theatre where they sedated me. I was surprised that I was not being put to sleep. They only numbed my neck area - imagine the cutting & abrasive feeling that was being experienced. It was not comfortable at all, and the surgery took 2.5 hours (for me to endure). OMG! And the long spells of pain I need to further endure after the surgery when the numbness subsided.

Sleeping, talking, eating & moving around are the problems.

Well, I hope these pains are worth to take. I am very excited for the result.

3 days to go, for my vocal chord surgery. Wish me success..
After which we can shout & sing together.
It will definitely improve my life.

Yes! My precious voice! Come back to me!

31st Dec '08 (last day of the year)

Rented a car and my bro drove us & cousins around the whole half day. It was the 1st time we went out together in a car. Feeling was very fresh.

(1hr) Our 1st stop was at the renovated Ginza Plaza, now named West Coast Plaza. Quite disappointing as many shops have not yet been opened & about 50% of the outlets are eateries. We ate at Subway & I sinned having eaten beef. This is the 2nd time, the 1st time being accidental due to young age ignorance haha.

(2hr) 2nd stop was at Raffles Marina where we played two games of bowling. Quite amusing. We got to see how a feminine male bowler plays & we created some funny ways bowl. At the payments counter, i had a feeling that e cashier was trying to cheat us - making black money. She thought we are ignorant on how they charge, so she quoted adult charges. it was only after she asked us if we wanted a receipt when I sensed some trickery. Then we contended her with quotations stated on the wall. Sensing danger of exposure, she got up with some lame explanations that did not make any sense.
After that we took some time enjoying the breeze outside with sea scenery.

(1.5hr) 3rd stop should be the not-so-accessible Changi but to due to time constraint, we made a turn half way through into east coast park to have our dinner. meal was sumptuous - expensive but delicious especially the satay & the riceball.

(not even half an hr) 9pm+ and mount faber was already in the state of 'full house'. Disappointing! else we can enjoy scenery there already + the sight of colourfully illuminated wave-shaped bridge.

(4hr) Countdown at aunt house

(1hr) Another trip. This time was at Jurong Hill where u can enjoy almost 360 degrees view of Singapore. Spectacular & panoramic especially at night with all the lights & the breeze. Already 3.30am and the place was still quite packed at the nearby food village.

Yo Yo!! happy merry Xmas

...and a happy new year! thx for all the sms wishes from my frens.

Reached home 30mins ago, thx so much to my uncle for making a 2nd trip just to send me home. it had been so many years since we last held a gift exchange session - with nicely packed presents - big & small. of cos, we cant judge a present by its size. and i have received comments that the presents i bought are cute or creative. well, anyway, gift exchange has a traditional significance, whether the presents are exp or cheap, big or small, useful or ornamental.

afterall, seriously, i can drink even more. i am still super sober after that many glasses of wine and right now I am blogging with highness and alertness. I am even reading my book too. oh yea, and i was surprised that my youngest bro drank a few glasses of wine - though he still loses to my biaomei who is even younger. LOL (dun tell u the age).

getting a new phone this coming new year day, woohoo! i shall rid old buy new..

Finally, i can rest in peace LOL. I've already bought all my new year clothes. woohoo.. spent nigh $250 -.-"' on cardigan, levis jeans, shirts & a pair of shoes.

and i guess it's time for me to re-tan my skin. it has started to fade..arghh! i cant imagine me turning back to white again *pukes*. it makes me look childish & too decent. white skin on my brother is another different thing because it suits him well - ladies will envy his skin -.-, but i think that a slight tan on his skin will suit him perfect.

It all started 3 years back when my friends recommended that I go get some tanning for a nicer look. after 1 month of regular sun tanning, I was stunned - looking into the mirror as if seeing another person. it was a change, big change. People commented I look taller and more mature. ok, i thought that was it - a mission accomplished. But due to packed time in study and thanks to that F***ing national service, I was back to white again.
notwithstanding this, I went for tanning whenever there was an off day. and i am glad that i am a sporty person because i can keep myself healthy, cheered up and at the same time a toned skin.

A Fruitful Day

Angbaos & presents!!! Argh..I am so happy and filled with glee.

Everything seems fine - food was enough, space catered was just nice, but it was a petty we did not hold a BBQ party because IT DID NOT RAIN!! It would have been even more enjoyable.

Just now was a hectic 3 hrs during which people came endlessly. But it was worth it because angbaos kept coming in too.. HAHAHA. They were so nice for been so generous. Well, the highest worth is $100 per angbao. I shan't reveal who the 5 givers were. Among the relatives, they were the closest to me. And of course I would like to thank my father for his connection with so many relatives, which in turn brought in so many angbaos. heehee..

Oh ya, and a very special gratitude to my biao meis & biao di. They actually dug their piggy bank to buy me presents. I am so touched..., yet guilty... their PIGGY BANK. From my really young cousin jordon & jessie is a packet of my favourite food - chocolate, and from my 2 beautiful cousin amanda & rebecca is a wallet with creatively designed graffiti. Frankly speaking, I'd prefer presents to angbaos as money is indubitably a sensitive object. Moreover, presents are more colourful and much more interesting.

Fortunately i managed to install a new motherboard to 'revive' my other spoilt computer. This effectively contained the noisiness of small children. PHEWWW!

Near at the end of the day, we had a wine session with the usual party - aunts & cousins. And again, my 2 aunts made themselves drunk and uttered some lame languages.

Coming events are Xmas & New Year celebration.

I find myself so acquisitive
For the word of God is so significant to my life;
In making me a better person.

Yet I am so confused because of my ignorance
With which I have to decide, nonetheless.

Devastated & disappointed I feel
For I have sinned unknowingly every now & then
Which I want to rid

Which belief to adhere?
Which path to trail?
Enlighten me with truth
Therein I plea... with faith and sincerity
